where is the mcgaughys spindle mod?

ive searched and cant find. searched google, cgm and gmfs. dezert1500 deleted his pics of the mod and thats the only thread ive found. anyone got any help?
 
not gonna be the same? from what i here 16" has shitty steering and i know 17" has shitty steering.

the 16" steering issue came from moving the lower balljoint on top of the arm and the lower arm then hitting the spindle. you could just grind away part of the spindle on either side of the lower mount and it would give back the steering. the 17" steering issue isn't the same because it doesn't move the lower ball joint on top of the arm.
 
hmmm...im pretty sure alwaysomethin has mcgaughys 17" and his is modded some how to have better steering. have to check it out.

DAMN!! lol i may cut steering stops on control arm lol. seems like alot of material missing. and that was off dezert's thread correct? which means it was a 16" spindle.
 
Yea I saved it from his thread, planned on doing mine at some point but I don't know if I ever will lol
 
i know steering in the ext sucked. and thats why i wanna do it before i put it on. i dont feel like having to tear the shit back down. plus getting shti powdered. dont wanna grind powder back off lol
 
Yea my steering sucks..I'm in the same boat..don't wanna tear it all back down to grind them now, but I'm planning on running 3" djm lowers and according to spanky and Shredsled on gmfs..the lcas gain all if the turning radius back
 
I'd almost just pay someone with more skills than me to clean it up nicely then PC it. But I am cheap so I doubt I will when I get the spindles
 
Ok.. Im planning on getting the 2" spindles from Mcg's.. For the 16" wheels.. Will i need to do this before i put them on?? 04' gmc ecrb...

You don't have to but it helps with the turning radius..if you don't you will lose turning radius
 
ryan, gmracer also has a thread on this, i'll hunt it down for ya....at least i thought he did...

I cut the stops on mine and got most of the turning radius back. Seems like all of it
