received my switchbacks ( VLEDs, ones that stay white and only flash amber) yesterday and installed them at the meet along with the new flasher relay. they worked perfect in the parking lot there, perfect on two short drives, then while driving Mike realized my left dash blinker and mirror signal were half lit up. i flicked the blinkers and 4-ways on a few times and it went away. perfect back to his house, and perfect for 50mins of my 1hr drive home...but now it is stuck being all fucky.
fucky = the left (and only the left) blinkers stay lit up, whenever there is power. the dash light, mirror signal, and taillight blinker all stay at a dim, half lit state, while the front turn signal stays fully lit. oh, and while the blinker is 'stuck' on, when i actually signal for the left blinker, nothing happens at all. but the right works fine, and if i hit 4-ways they all work fine...
switched around all possible combinations of switchbacks, halogen bulbs, and relays today. heres le results in the same order:
Stock relay:
Both SB's = Left blinker on + hyper flash
Pass SB and Driver halogen = only hyper flash
Pass Halogen and Driver SB = Left blinker on + hyper flash
Both Halogens = perfect, except left blinker hyper flash (this was strange)
New flasher relay:
Both SB's = Left blinker on only
Pass SB and Driver halogen = perfect
Pass halogen and Driver SB = left blinker on only
Both halogens = perfect
*specific bulb did not matter, i interchanged the SB's back and forth in the same sockets with the same results.
*its only ever the left blinker funking up
*all blinker fuses are good
no clue where to start. but since the stock setup that never had problems before, now hyper flashes the left side, i'm guessing something over there shorted out with the switchbacks in? we only have a shitty multimeter at the house. the shop just ordered a real good one so we can measure ohms and voltage in about 2 weeks. running new flasher with both halogens now for the time being. any leads or suggestions are mucho appreciatedio
