recently bought stock 2500 rims. they are polished aluminum with a clear coat. anyone know the best way to clean and polish them? i heard u cant use aluminum wheel cleaners and polishes on them cause of the clear coat. any help?
true...unless u strip the clear and the aluminum polish, u cant use traditional wheel polishing products. If the clear is still good, use some paint polish on them and the seal them up like you would any painted surface.
Yep, you can treat them just like you would a painted body panel since you will only be working in the clear coat. Metal Polishes won't do anything to clear coat.
Something like our Revive Polish is great if you are working by hand. If you have access to a cordless drill or a machine that accepts a 4" backing plate, our Paint Correcting/Finishing Combo with 4" focus pads are the ticket for removing swirls/scratches/defects.
