Alright so idk the exact problem, but i noticed it before i drove down here to florida but, when i turn the key in the truck right before i crank it the oil pressure gauge pegs out past 80.

I am pretty certain its not the oil pressure sending unit/switch on the back of the manifold see as how it was replaced when this new crate engine was installed (not even 5k miles on it)

The oil pressure is under my impression normal (reading between 60-80 mainly 70) Was told that the crate engines have high volume oil pumps which in theory explains the high (normal) pressure?

Oil Level is perfect no leaks everything is golden, i just wasnt sure what the reason would be for the gauge to peg out BEFORE startup.

Perhaps stepper motor?

Any help is appreciated.

Was it in when you put the engine in, did it just start acting up and is it within a wrench distance from the distributor?

it was on when we installed the engine yes, (put the new part on before lowering the new engine in) We were careful and didnt knock it against anything. Not really within wrench distance, it just started acting weird, sometimes it doesnt peg out before startup, like today i went out to crank it to start and before startup it didnt peg out it went to 0 then cranked and started and went up.
