Yes I know, ford.... But I know there are a lot of sound gurus here.

So my sound in the 08 6.4 is a little under par.

What door speakers do you all recommend? JL? Kicker? Memphis?

Not looking for any boom, but want some better speakers.

Focal, Boston Acoustics, Infinity, Polk are all good brands. I've had all in the past, currently running Focal Access and have no complaints with any brands.
 
I've had Infinity, Kicker, Alpine, Kenwood, and Pioneer speakers. I liked them all, but out of every set of speakers I have ever had, I would have to say that Pioneer was the best bang for the buck. Right now I have some Pioneer 6.5's in my truck that are well about ten years old and still going strong. I originally bought them in 2004 for my wife's car and removed them in 2005 when we traded it in. I eventually decided to install them in my truck since they were the right size for the doors in my truck.
 
I've had Kicker and Pioneer mainly, had Pioneer in 5 different cars. For the price you can't beat them, throw an amp in to power them and you'd be set. My best setup was some 3-way Pioneer 6x9s in my old Mustang with an 800W Dual amp and even without my sub it sounded awesome
 
I personally like the polk MM line for bang for buck applications.
Aren't terribly expensive and perform extremely well for their price
