Been a while since I've been on here. Truck has had some changes recently, and I guess I'll post my future mods here as well.

Background info: 2000 1500 z71, 5.3/60e, got it stock last year.



Moto 962, Toyos, HD hood, leveled


Did a cam swap to the 5.3l last July. Here's a vid, untuned

Kept an eye out for HD grille/cap to match my hood. A year later I snagged a grille and cap on cl. Peeled the chrome grille and painted it.


Then I was in a debate on cutting my bumper and lowering it or doing a 1.5" body lift and not lifting the front bumper to allow room for HD grille. Didn't like the idea of losing my tow hooks so I opted for the body lift without lifting front bumper. So I installed a zone 1.5" bl and finished the HD conversion.

Then about a month ago I started having oil pressure issues. I changed the oil and found an oil pan full of metal shavings. Got pissed off and came close to selling the truck. Talked myself out of it and decided to motor swap.

So a couple weeks ago I bought an LQ4 6.0l out of a wrecked 2003 2500hd with 80k miles.

I took the 5.3l out and opened it up to find my oil pressure issue...



Cam bearings were fucking toast. It completely fell out of the 4th journal when I removed cam. Luckily it didn't hurt the cam.

So I stripped the 5.3l of its go fast goodies and swapped them into the 6.0l. Then I figured I might as well do some more shit while the motor is out. So I went on a parts ordering spree and installed everything to the 6.0l. This Saturday I plan on dropping it in the truck.

Performance mods are as follows-

LQ4 6.0l
TSP220 cam
PAC .650 valve springs
7.4 hardened push rods
Ported LS6 oil pump
LS2 timing set
CalSpeed longtube headers and catless y pipe
ARP header bolts
Single 3" exhaust, 18" bullet in front of an Aeroturbine 3030xl, 4" dmax tailpipe
ASP underdrive crank pulley
ASP overdrive alternator pulley
05+ OEM electric fans
34" OEM radiator
MSD wires
Ported/Polished throttle body
Spectre intake
Yank TT3000 torque converter
Corvette Servo
TruCool 40k trans cooler




Probably some other crap I'm forgetting. It'll get dyno tuned with hptuners. Hoping for 350 to the wheels, on stock size tires. We will see, not looking to set records. I just want my truck to be driveable and my garage to not look like a bomb went off lol.

So that's where it sits currently...
