I was demolding the denali tonight using the 3M eraser wheel, heat gun, some bondo spreaders (scraping) and 3M adhesive remover. I have removed all the old adhesive and the paint feels smooth to the touch. However, there looks to be a small residual residue still there. You can barely feel anything unless you're feeling for something fine. I've tried cleaners and solvents but no dice. It doesn't feel sticky at all so I have no clue what it is. You can't see it from the side but only when directly facing it. Anyone who has debadged/demolded your rigs ever run into this? If so what can I do to get rid of it?

Idk how NNBS moldings are but that looks like where the edges just rubbed the body like on an NBS. My red truck had those, came right out with a couple passes of the buffer

Based upon the previous recommendations, I went ahead and broke out the orbital polisher. I hit a small section 3 passes and now the line is very faint. I did a quick google and I may stop by Oreillys to get a slightly more abrasive cleaning compound. I have a set of black painted door handles to install so I will do a full vehicle scrub, polish and wax. Turtle wax makes a decent kit for black vehicles called a "black box". I used it on my previous 07 esky and it works great for $20.

my black NBS had that too, I buffed the doors in that area, then looked much better than the truck. 14 hours later the rest of the truck was done, viscious circle but it will come out with a buffer.

thats the reason im afraid to peel mine off, but the adhesive i nthe front is bad enough and i gotta have on door touched up from the clearcoat ripping off from the dealer fucking up years back anyway so YOLO they are coming off this spring.

only 3 things happen when people say "YOLO"
1. You end up in prision
2. You get someone knocked up and/or get the clap
3. You end up in the hospital/morge

All,

The meguiars cleaning compound I picked up today worked like a charm. I ran 4 passes over each door and it looks good. Sorry for the shitty iPhone pics. I'll have some better ones soon once I get her shined up.
