First, have a BIG air compressor. Everything beyond that is gravy.
Get an air grinder, cut an 'X' in the stud head. Then drill out the center with a 3/8 or 1/2" bit. Next, take a air hammer, or a punch and hammer, and remove the remaining pieces of the head of the stud. Then use the air hammer or the punch (or anything else that fits the stud hole), and beat out the absolute hell out of that stud. Bingo. With the right tools its not a terrible job.
