I remember a while back running into a thread on this other forum, where they had beefed up the front end on a bagged truck. I know im being very general, but hopefully our air suspension savy guys chime in cough*tukn4s*. What can i do to make my front end bullet proof.

Quick pick of what im talking about

Heim tie rods is the best thing to do because the tierods will get more wear than anything on your front suspension. Flipping uppers is also a good idea as well.

Another thing to do is get the bottom if the wheel in a little bit more bulge either new lower arms or narrowing your stock lower arm. If you can weld, its a half a day job that can make a big difference in the long run.

i dont know what exact setup you're running smiggs but i rung the same as tukn4s and id agree heims, i also plated the outside of the frame with 1/4" for extra strength.. i saw a local truck that went over some railroad tracks a little fast and it ripped a hole in the frame around the torsion bag bracket

Well here's the pics of the heim steering I made for Peyton's truck. PM me if anyone else is interested

Yeah, the heart if the uniball is a teflon lined spherical bearing.

The other pieces had to be made at a machine shop along with the bearing cups i used. There wasnt anything available to buy for what i wanted.

fuck im just going to make that shit for my front end fuck buying it for hundreds

don't cheap out man. it's not a cheap process if you use quality parts. my bearings and cups were $90 each and that was cost. I have $300 in my upper arms with energy bushings and 1.25" 1/8" wall tubing, thats only because I got my buddy to may the top and bottom pieces for the uniball for free.

I haz fab shop W/ machine shop
I can make all that shit
Just never realized that's all there is to a uniball
Clips on the spindle side yes?

Dont understand the question?

Like I said, just buy the best uniballs possible. I was just telling you so you'd know what price range to expect.

Yes to the outsides on the uppers. But have the ring inbetween the lca and spindle. Having the entire support of the uniball on a snap ring is not a design i like.

I dont use uniballs on the lowers. The lower ball joint doesn't even get close to being stressed.

For some reason I was thinking one would be under compression and the other under tension

on the upper arm, I placed the snap ring on the outside because if my snap ring ever did fail, I do not want the upper arm to be able to become seperated from my spindle.

If the lca orientation is standard i would have the snap ring between the arm and spindle. If its flipped like mine i would put it on the bottom. I should have clarified that.
