What back spacing would I need in the rear of a bagged 98 on a 20x10. I'm concerned with the tire rubbing the inner bedside! Thanks

Want a 274/35 or 275/40 tire on there as well
Don't want to narrow rear end.

Depends.

Are your bed sides flared?
Is your diff narrowed.

If you're doing custom billets, why are you doing a x10 when x9.5, x9 and x8.5 unless you plan on having lip, but to have a decent lip your diff would need to be narrowed....

Also wouldn't hurt to mention tire size.

Want a wider tire and I'm looking at billet specialties wheels and they only offer in 20x10 and 20x8.5 and the 8.5 won't cut it for the rear. Do not want to narrow the rear end either.

I'll go from experience and that's about all. My friend has a bagged obs that was bagged on 22x9.5 +10 on a 255/30/22 tire which is 28" in diameter.

That being said, running a 20x10 you'll need AT LEAST a +23 offset to sit in the same spot as him running a 28" tall tire, which in a 20 on a 10 wide rim would set you with about a 295 35 20 which measures to 28.1" tall and just a hair over 11.5 wide. With it being 1.5" wider over all you will need to compensate with offset. So over all to tuck a 20x10 with a 295 35 20, you'll be looking at an overall offset of +43 or better.

So you'll be looking at 7.2" of backspace or better.

If I'm wrong, Brett will correct me.

Here's pics of the obs I mentioned.

I have a bagged 95 silverado like yours. My wheels are 20x8.5 bs 5.5 with 255 35 20. 20x10 bs 6 with 275 35 20. Front and rear fender lips are rolled for clearance when laying out. Front set up is stock control arms with 2" belltech spindles. Rear is a kp components 6 link, stock rearend not narrowed. I think when I replace my tires I am going up to a 40 series, hopefully it will ride alittle better with more sidewall. Feel free to pm me with any questions you may have, I'd be glade to help you out.
