Ive used a spray before to help femove odors from the ac system but Im looking for suggestions on bow to ge rid of this smell. Its sorta like an amonia type smell, notmoldy like usual. What do youguys use?

Make a cabin filter is the only way! They havent had cabin filters since 04-05 so yes a/c sooner or later will stink. Luckily they just covered the old location in 05-07classic so your able to cut it out and add a universal filter. There is a write up on it on trailvoy.com i believe or tbssowners
Forgot to mention its the ranger that smells bad. Actually, wiffuh said her camry's ac also smells...but she has a filter so im just gonna replace it on hers....ranger doesnt have a filter. Ill see if i can pull the blower motor though.
My old 99 started smelling. I replaced the cabin filter, sprayed the filter with ferbreeze, sprayed in all of the vents with ferbreeze, and problem solved.
Ended up buying this stuff and replacing th cabin filter in the wifes car.

Wife said it smells like lysol...will probably try that next time...fgt lil bottles I bought are expensive. So far so good, it doesnt stank and nice scent is still there...wont really know until a couple weeks to see if it comes back or not....will post update.
will look it up...saw 2-3 foggers on youtube but couldnt find at any parts store.
mom's 2007 'Burban has this problem. has 88,000 miles and cabin filter has never been changed. But it only stanks when the a/c first starts up. "shrug:
