Hello all,

Today I thought my x910 Navi unit took a crap. Checked both radio fuses and the deck fuse. Then I checked the perphial adapter and sure enough the yellow wire had power going in but not on the deck side. I noticed the case on the perphial waa loose and then found the issue in the pic below, sure enough tester showed that's my power connection.

I had the pos1 to retain on star however since it's analog onstar can I just buy a reg wiring harness for my radio and install that? Suggestions on harness?

why not just fix it? just solder a shielded wire as a replacement for the part of the board that's messed up.

I have no idea where it goes on the board and if I get a non onstar isn't it cheap?

no clue on costs. but all you have to do is reconnect at the 2 solder joints that are on the board, 1 on top, and the 2-point on the bottom (as per the picture)

You can use a regular harness. You just need a regular ole 88-02 GM radio harness. I have several of them (used) if you need one. Throw me a few bucks for shipping and it's yours. Or else you can get a new one for about $10 from most places.

Thank you Scotty, no point to keep the onstar module since it's obsolete for my year. I know walmart sells the scosche prob just pick up a new one. Thank you for the offer =)

My 2001 has (had) Onstar, and I used a regular harness. Works perfectly fine, and has been that way for years.

Got my Metra kit all wired up, except now my EQ and Amp isn't turning off. I have a x910 with a system remote wire that's straight into the amp remote wire and EQ t-tapped as well.

Do I need to hook that up to the Metra kit? I assumed I didn't or maybe in a settings menu?
