Picked this up yesterday. Got a pretty good deal for it I think. Plans are to fix it up, drive it a while then sell.

Good-fully loaded z71 Tahoe, 2 tone interior, sun roof, heat and power front seats, no third row, only 115k miles, aftermarket head unit, leveled, paint to match.

Bad- little rust on the door seems, paint has a small patch of cancer on the rear hatch, about the size of a golf ball, transmission is toast, needs a detail, driver seat needs to be repaired, has the infamous ignition hang up

I plan on getting it road worthy first which means I need a trans. Anyone have a lead on a used one? It needs a new front bumper, and paint the few rust spots. Trying to keep my girlfriend from commandeering it also. I have a feeling I might keep it for a while lol. Does anyone have a write up for trans replacement? Iirc I think I have to drop the y pipe right?

Stock Radio
Front bumper
Front valence
Transmission
Step bars
Rear bottom plastics, below back doors.

I've got a stock radio but it doesn't power off when the key is on. So you just have to turn it down if you don't want to listen to radio while driving. Still turns off like normal when key is off and door is opened.

Looking at the dash I think the HVAC controls were swapped. They look funny.

Oh and it has leds and HID's in all the lights

Hard to tell from the picture but does it have digital hvac? You said it looks funny and that's what it looks like to me in the picture. My 03 has the same thing if so. May not be swapped.

Thanks man. Lots of time and money into that ford.

Hell no. I have 5 tuners working on it lol. I mean I got a couple tunes that shift good, but I want more options to choose from. Engine tunes I got from innovative are amazing. Gear heads have dead pedal so he is still working on that. Trucks very strong though. I'm ready to get some track times. Should be +800hp plus to the rear wheels judging from others with similar setups.

Idk. Lol I literally picked it up, dropped it off at the house and caught a plan to Minnesota. Haven't really inspected everything.

Seems like the dash doesn't fit 100% I'll get pictures when I get back home

Question. What year model trans will fit in a 03? Will a 98 fit? I have been out the game way to long

How much did you score it for if you don't mind me asking. I'm actually thinking about selling mine, but since I have a 01, I doubt I could get anything for it. With all the money I've put into it keeping it up plus all the mods I've done, I might just keep it as a second vehicle or else give it to my son if I do end up very getting a new truck.
 
you need trans from LS base. honestly safer to have rebuilt than keep chancing used. There are generally some Z71 tahoes being parted on CL. if not Im sure I can dig one up somewhere. I may have some rear plastics, but Id do the OEM regular tahoe black ones, and dye the rest of the plastics on it black personally. Think LMC sells the black front lower pretty cheap. Ebay or certifit should server your purpose on the bumper.
